I’ve mentioned before that I listen to this podcast called “How Did This Get Made?” where they discuss movies that are “so bad they’re good” and man do I love it. Hosts Paul Scheer, Jason Mantzoukas, and June Diane Raphael all have great chemistry with one another, and they have some great guest hosts. Some memorable eps include “Miami Connection”, “Con Air”, “Sleepaway Camp”, and “Timecop” among many others. Check it the eff out.

The most recent movie the pod covered is 2002’s “Killing Me Softly” featuring Heather Graham and Joseph Fiennes, and let me tell ya, it was a fucking wild one. Aside from it just being borderline pornographic, with one graphic nudity-filled sex scene after another, it seems like there is really no plot to speak of initially. Not that I’m complaining about topless Heather Graham mind you, but for fuck’s sake I need something else in a feature length film. There is a dash of rape, incest, and bondage among other potential triggers so please be careful and take that into consideration when you watch. Unfortunately it’s pretty much all that’s going on of any substance.

I get the feeling like Heather Graham has no business being the lead in this movie. That’s mostly because no one has any business leading or even supporting in this movie because there’s nothing to support. There’s no story, no writing, and very little in the way of character development…Jesus, what a piece of shit. Joseph Fiennes, an actor I had completely forgotten existed since circa 1998 and I get the feeling I’ll be forgetting him all over again starting a few days down the road from now in 2022, also has no business in the movie because I’m actually not a terribly big fan. The other actors seem vaguely familiar but I just want to forget everything.

Don’t check this movie out, guys. Don’t look it up. Don’t see if you can find it. It is on Hoopla though. Hoopla is a library-based digital streaming service that you can use with just a library card number and PIN. Guys! Check out Hoopla! And if you don’t have a library card, check out your local library and get a fucking card! Read a book maybe? Or listen to one on audio! Spread your wings and fly but don’t watch “Killing Me Softly”, what a hunk of junk. I’m actually trying super hard to write a my own novel like some kind of weirdo btw, but it is fucking slow going. Anyway check out anything but this movie. Take care.
