It has been one of my most poorly kept secrets that Anna Kendrick is (one of) the love(s) of my life. You know, because you should try to keep your options open when you don’t have a chance with anyone, especially in the celebrity world. Maybe if I won a contest? Sure. Sam Rockwell is someone I consistently enjoy, despite his amazing ability to play unlikeable characters. If you get a chance, check out “Moon” with him, I love the shit out of it. This one, “Mr. Right” is an interesting tale that I’d been meaning to check out. I’d like to thank Chip for suggesting it to me.

Kendrick plays a quirky unlucky in love type with a great sense of humor and witty comebacks all over the place. Rockwell plays a hitman who has had something of a change of heart in his profession, and he and Kendrick really hit it the hell off. They’ve actually got really good chemistry, which is a thing that is nice to see in this day and age. They go on quite the adventure together and there’s tons of excitement and violence and comedy and guns and fucking around. Pretty neat!

If I had to guess, I’d assume this movie didn’t get a wide release in theaters. It just has that kind of almost indie-type feel to it. But I feel like I might dare say it’s original at the very least, or perhaps that’s just for me. This movie also has the underrated Tim Roth in it. He’s okay here, but nothing that knocks your socks off or anything. The bad guys are good enough for this platform. We also see rapper “The RZA” here, who does a solid job in his role.

What can I really say? Despite some flaws, I thought this was pretty enjoyable and I would recommend checking it out for casual viewing/hangover movie type material. There is too much to like here to put off watching for as long as I did. On Netflix right now.
